Nationally, only ten facilities currently hold IAC accreditation
Fairfax, VA April, 2014
The Fairfax Vein Center (FVC), recognized as Northern Virginia’s leading vein clinic for varicose and spider vein treatment, is the first group in the Washington, DC metropolitan area to be given full accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).
Accreditation is granted by a widely respected panel of experts who conduct a rigorous and thorough review to ensure that facilities are providing quality patient care in compliance with national standards. The IAC is an independent, multi-disciplinary medical organization which establishes quality criteria and recognizes facilities for their high level of patient care.
“We are proud to be the first vein clinic in the area to receive this highly coveted ‘seal of approval’ from the IAC,” said Dr. Michael Karnaze, FVC Medical Director. “It’s quite an honor that our doctors, who are leading experts in the diagnosis and treatment of many vein problems, have now been recognized for over ten years of providing excellent care to thousands of patients.
The Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) now provides accreditation programs for vein centers, in addition to programs for diagnostic vascular testing, echocardiography, PET scanning, MRI, diagnostic CT scanning, dental CT, and carotid stenting.
Fairfax Vein Center, an affiliate of Fairfax Radiological Consultants, is the most experienced vein treatment group in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The center’s board-certified physicians have treated more than 10,000 patients with varicose and spider veins, and were the first in the region to use Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT), and also offer many other treatments including sclerotherapy.
