Interventional radiologists are board certified physicians with several years of additional specialized training after medical school. They have extensive, and specialized knowledge of minimally invasive procedures and treatments to treat many kinds of vascular and vein diseases (including deep vein thrombosis, chronic venous insufficiency, peripheral arterial disease, varicose and spider veins) and conditions including uterine fibroids, enlarged prostate, cancer care (including liver, kidney and port placements), pelvic congestion, peripheral artery disease, varicose veins, spine and joint pain.

Yes, at the Fairfax Vascular Center, our physicians partner with your healthcare provider to help coordinate the best care and follow up for you. Our physicians also work at the area’s top hospitals and know and work with many doctors in the area.

Yes, for some procedures. We recommend that you check with your medical insurance company prior to scheduling your procedure with us. If you run into any questions about insurance please do not hesitate to contact us, we are happy to help.

You will need a referral for some, but not all procedures. If you are not sure, you can call our center. You should also check with your doctor and insurance company.

Yes! That is just one of the many things that makes the Fairfax Vascular Center special and able to provide you with expert, personalized care. When you come to the Center for your consult the doctor you meet with is usually the same doctor who will perform your procedure. This is our way of helping you to feel relaxed and ready for your procedure with us.

From the moment you arrive at our beautiful center, you will be greeted by a friendly face who will check you in. You will relax in our spacious, modern reception area. Once you are all checked in, you will see your doctor and his or her medical assistant or nurse to prepare for your procedure.

Yes. You will usually have a shorter recovery time with a minimally invasive procedure done at the Fairfax Vascular Center than with a more invasive, hospital surgical procedure.

Your First Visit

We understand that patients may not be sure what to expect during their first visit to the Fairfax Vascular Center. For most procedures, you will receive a consultation with one of our Interventional Radiologists who will discuss and outline a treatment plan, and what you need to know before and after the procedure.
